Stem: Bark maceration is antipaludic; bark and leaves in decoction for a children's vermifuge, antidiarrhoeic. Bark decoction for infections of glans penis, diabetes, fever, stomach worms, itches, chest pain, snakebite. Bark sometimes used as a non-essential ingredient in the curare (balaitu) made by the Guyana Waiwai.

Leaf: Latex for eye pain.
